The Up and Downs Band! Kicking off Oktoberfest from 7-10pm!!

The Up and Down are a six piece acoustic band from the East Bay, CA. They perform Traditional American music played aggressively. You could call it Roughed up Bluegrass, or Irish Drinking Song music. The band features musicians playing Mandolin, Bass, Banjo, Guitar, fiddle and a snare drum (standing up). The Up and Down have evolved their sound into a mix like that of the Irish folk style bands The Pogues, The Alarm, The Dubliners, and the Chieftains. Carlo Balboni has assembled the rich talents of these six musicians with similar musical DNA as his own. The band has moved away from it’s original Punk roots and traveled to the sound they have found today. With the recording of their first CD, The Up and Down have developed a devoted following. The boys are currently in the studio working on their follow up to “Hell of a Time”
